Frequently Asked Question
To configure your mail in iOS 14, you start off by going to Settings > Mail > Accounts. Once in there, click on "Add Account". The screen that follows contains some options, such as:
Click on "Other". The screen that follows then asks what kind of account
you want to add. As we are adding a mail account, go ahead and click on
"Add Mail Account". You will then be asked to fill in some basic
information about the mail account.
Name: Here you enter the name that will be displayed when you e-mail someone. This could be your own name, business name or what ever you decide to put here.
Email: This is where you fill in your email address you wish to add
Password: Enter your email account password here
Description: Enter a description that your iPhone or iPad can list the account as. You can enter your e-mail address or a more fitting description. Once filled in, click on Next on top.
In the screen that follows, you will be asked to fill in some more technical settings.
On top you will have a choice between IMAP and POP. JW Web Services
recommends that you use IMAP, especially if you plan to use your
account(s) on multiple devices or computers. IMAP is selected by
default. Unless you have a specific reason for wanting to use POP, it is
recommended to leave it on IMAP
Name: This is the same field as the screen before, the name that will be displayed when you e-mail someone.
E-mail: This is your email address filled in from the previous screen
Description: This is the description filled in from the previous screen
Incoming Mail Server:
Host Name: Fill in the mail server where the mail is being stored. In this case, the address will be mail.jwwebservices.sx as shown
Username:
This is your entire email address, including the part after the @
symbol. So if your email address is example@jwwebservices.sx, then this
is what you fill in as username.
Password: This is your password attached to your e-mail account
Outgoing Mail Server:
Hostname: Fill in the mail server where the mail is being sent to. In this case, the address will be mail.jwwebservices.sx as shown
Username:
It says Optional in the screen, however security settings on the JW Web
Services mail server requires that it is filled in. You are therefore
encouraged to fill in your entire e-mail address here. If you do not,
you will be unable to send mail, and the iOS setting check will be
unable to complete the check and therefore not add the account to your
iPhone or iPad
Password: This is your password attached to your e-mail account
Once
filled in, click on Next on top. The iOS device will then attempt to
contact the mail server using the filled in settings. If entered
correctly, it will pass and your account will be added.
